The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will accept submissions for the 2023 Nebraskaland Magazine photo contest starting Oct. 1.

We wish to thank Dr. Dreyer, Dr. Gaede, Dr. Le, Community Healthcare Hospice and Garey Funeral Home. A huge thank you to the First Christian Church ladies for all the wonderful food and meals. Also, Warren Dunlop and Jay Dee Wolzen who officiated the services; and Pastor Nate Hagen a true friend. Of course all the nieghbors, friends, and loved ones who reached out in any way; you were such a blessing. A thank you to Faith Community Church where the service was held. Thanks to Sue Ann Stuthiet and Sara Brehmer for the wonderful music. What a beautiful day it was to say goodbye.

A new endeavor is taking place at the Heritage Plaza Retirement Village. Starting on Wednesday, October 11th, there will be “good old-fashioned card parties” in the Plaza at 3 PM.

BARTLEY - Bartley’s downtown is getting a facelift thanks to Tax Increment Financing funds the Village has collected over the years. After completing demolition of two dilapidated buildings downtown in August through its nuisance abatement program, the Village has begun work to replace the water transite pipe that ran under main street downtown with a new PVC line that runs from the village office to the highway.

Stan Murdoch offers his book of hope to the community Stanley Murdoch was called to service early in his life. His reasons are all laid out in his book ‘God is Powerful… And There is Something He Has For You To Do’. Through this book, his life of service has continued into his retirement from his role as Pastor. If, that is, a Pastor is ever truly retired.

Happiness is… Pork Days The theme for Pork Days September 23 and 24th in Stamford was Happiness Is… Pork Days is sponsored by the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. The weekend of events kicked off on Saturday morning with a parade that had just over 30 entries.

TeamMates+ is New at NCTA: Part I By Andela Taylor, NCTA Campus News The TeamMates Mentoring Program was founded in 1991 by Tom and Nancy Osborne with a vision to provide positive role models and mentors for K-12 youth facing challenges in their lives. Over the years, it has expanded its reach to over 170 communities across Nebraska, connecting adult volunteer mentors with students to provide guidance, support, and encouragement.

The Sunday School Convention will be held at the Seventh Day Church in Beaver City on Sunday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. The public is welcome and surrounding churches are invited to join as we celebrate our freedom to openly worship here in America.
