Friday afternoon, Jeanette Huxoll was a visitor of Della Mae VonLoh. Della Mae attended sunrise ervice at the Lutheran church and enjoyed brunch afterwards on Easter Sunday.

Bennet among NCTA Aggie placings at Punchy in Pink

CURTIS, Neb. – Hosts of the recent Punchy in Pink Spring Roundup in McCook rode away as collegiate champions of their annual ranch and stock horse contest. The Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Ranch Horse Team won among four colleges. Among the NCTA Aggie placings at Punchy in Pink was: (Back row 3rd from left) Cauy Bennet, Elwood, on Katy Sugar Lena, ended as the Collegiate Non Pro All-Around Champion with 1st places in trail class and pleasure, and 4th place in both reining and cow work. Cauy also competed in the Collegiate Limited Non Pro on his younger mare, Easy Street Lady, finishing 7th in the All-Around with 4th in trail, 5th in both pleasure and cow work, and 7th in reining.The academic year ends with NCTA graduation on May 5. Some Aggies will continue to compete through the summer, including the Slidin’ Daze Palooza in the Pines at Elbert, Colorado on May 6 to May 8.

Clouse, Goshert selected to Order of Omega honor society

KEARNEY – Twenty-seven University of Nebraska at Kearney students have been selected as new members of Order of Omega, Eta Nu Chapter. They were honored Thursday during the annual Fraternity and Sorority Life awards banquet. Order of Omega is a Greek honor society built on the pillars of scholarship, service and leadership. It recognizes juniors and seniors who have demonstrated high standards in these areas while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Only 5% of UNK fraternity and sorority members can receive this honor each year.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors.
