ARAPAHOE –During the monthly meeting on December 8, 2025, the school board discussed the January 13, 2026 special election to override the Property Tax Authority and the Budget Authority caps placed on local districts by the Legislature in 2023.

December 08, 2025 I really don’t have time to write this column this week, but after having four different people tell me this last week how much they enjoy reading my columns, how could I not take time to write? My thanks to those who make it a point to speak those kind words. We’ve had some cold days, and some pretty decent days.

The Cambridge Board of Education met in regular session on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. After the Pledge of Allegiance and the Open Meeting Law Announcement, the board approved the agenda and the minutes from the November meeting.

At their December meeting, Dawson Public Power District’s board reviewed and approved an average 5.5% increase to all rates, to take effect in March 2026. It is projected to generate approximately $3 million in revenue.

The Stockville Congregational Church has her jingle bells on! With Kort Kemp running the John Deere sleigh and Bruce Ganter in the bucket, the lights were hung with care. Untangling the lights for the lovely old church were JoLynn Ganter, Jemma Walker, Thelma Sexson, Nancy Schaffert, Nikki Buker and Cheryl Muilenburg. A warm chili and cornbread supper was the final touch to the decorations. Church is held every 2nd and 4th Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in Stockville. Come join us.
