25 Years Ago April 25 , 1996 The Southern Valley Future Problem Solvers placed first in the state meet on Saturday and are eligible to compete in the international meet in Providence, Rhode Island. Team members are Jamie Wescott, Amy Stephens, Brian Jackson and Mike Brown.

10 years ago Students participating in the Knowledge Master Quiz Bowl competition were Jacob Gardner, Ashton Wasenius, Levi Watson, Junior Hilker, and Kaylea Watson. Arapahoe Tree Board will be hosting Arbor Day events at the Arapahoe Outdoor Classrooms on Friday, April 29.

10 years ago Marty Petersen has a green thumb. This Sunday, Petersen will hold a plant give away at the north shelter house in McKinley Park in Cambridge.

10 years ago Elwood FCCLA members Michele Haussler, Sami Smith, Sheridan Banzhaf, Ryan Fiene, Desirae Grassmeyer, Brittany Kussman, and Taylor Carlberg were given certificates honoring their speeches. Mods Club member Jane Hilton explains to the 4-5 year old group where their area to hunt is and how many eggs they can hunt for.

10 years ago Shannon Ridings, the 16 year-old granddaughter of Ruth Sughroue, was in concert with 85 of her classmates on Saturday, April 23 at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Candace Malleck of Southwest was one of the East players for 2011 Sertoma Volleyball.
