Carol Louise Max was surrounded by the love of her family when she passed away on Friday evening, September 12, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. She was 86 years of age. She was born on November 24, 1938 on a farm seven miles south of Curtis, Nebraska early on Thanksgiving morning to Glenn and Mable (Williams) Ruppert; the third of four children.

Michael J “Sluggo” Wilken passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. Mike leaves behind a legacy of service to his country, community, church, family and friends. He lived life on his own terms and was stubborn to the end.

Vivian Darlene Schluntz passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, August 26th, 2025, in Beaver City, Nebraska after a short battle with cancer. Vivian was born to Ervin and Laura (Dunn) Marble on July 25, 1933 in the family home south of Stamford, Nebraska.

Gary D. Bradney, 72, of Kearney passed away on September 06, 2025 at CHI Health in Kearney. Gary was born on October 30, 1952 in Yuma, CO to parents Ronald Dean and Mary (Ebbers) Bradney. The family lived in Yuma and Otis and Akron, Colorado areas until settling in Sterling, CO where Gary graduated with the class of 1970. Following high school Gary enlisted in National Guard which he served for six years attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6.

A Funeral Service for Katherine “Kathy” Chamberlain will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Oxford, Nebraska, with Pastor Wes Holen and Pastor Kirk Einspahr officiating.

Kathyrn Joan Schumacher, age 81, recently of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Kathy was born in McCook, Nebraska, to Howard Jerald “Bud” and Helen F.

Mary Cecilia (Rayer) Hayes, age 87, passed away in McCook Ne at Kinship Pointe Assisted Living, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 surrounded by family. Mary was born January 13, 1938 to Maurice Rayer & Elsie (Colling) Rayer at McCook, Nebraska.
