A Memorial Service for Maurice D. Cole, Sr. will be held (today) Thursday, June 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Reverend Kenton Birtell officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later date in Texas.

Muriel Claire Kotschwar, age 89, of Farnam, Nebraska, passed away on June 8th, 2022, at the Elwood Care Center, Elwood, Nebraska. She was born March 29th, 1933, to Henry & Hester (Carman) Gewecke, northwest of Farnam, Nebraska.

A celebration of life for Diana Lynne Krumme, 66, of Elwood, NE will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City, NE. An inurnment graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Elwood Cemetery in Elwood, NE with a reception following at the Senior Center in Elwood. Diana bravely fought and lost her twoyear battle with ovarian cancer on Saturday, May 28, 2022. At the time of her death Diana was living in the Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek. She was 66 years old.

Clarice J. Reed, 92 years of age, of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly of Stamford, Nebraska, died on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the Bickford of Grand Island Assisted Living.

James W. Cox, age 81, of Seward, Nebraska, passed away Sunday May 29, 2022 at his home in Seward. He was born on May 2, 1941 in Yuma, Colorado to Ronald and Pearl (Chandler) Cox. There is no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen. Services are to be scheduled for a later date. Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.

Michael J. Heskett, age 59, passed away at the Community Hospital of McCook on May 3, 2022. He was born on October 20, 1962, in McCook to Marvin R and Verna I. (Hill). Mike attended grade school and high school in McCook. Michael enjoyed many TV shows especially, The Dukes of Hazard, Incredible Hulk. He would wintered in Arizona with his parents for six months of the year. There, his parents square danced, and Michael would enjoy the music and watch them dance. He was a social person and was loved by all. Michael loved to go out to eat whether it be at Mac’s in McCook or Shirley K’s Coffee Shop in Cambridge. He was employed at SWATS doing various jobs. Michael lived at home till his parents moved into Cambridge Manor on Halloween in 2001. Michael then went to live in a group home in McCook. Cremation was chosen by family and a Memorial service was June 4, 2022 at the Herrmann- Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook with Rev. Tim Burke officiating. Inurnment in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Norma G. Brooks, age 93, of Indianola, NE passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, in McCook, NE. Norma was born May 7, 1929, in Curtis, NE to parents Fred T. and Mae Elizabeth (Grous) Hicks. She was one of three siblings who grew up in Curtis where she also attended school. Following high school, in 1946, Norma attended the Curtis Ag School before attending McCook College for one year. Norma then taught school in the Schmitz District, west of Maywood for one year. On November 8, 1947, Norma married Junior D. Brooks of Bartley, NE. They were blessed with three children: Larry, Lonnie, and Lori. They spent their life on their farm south of Indianola, NE.

The Funeral Service for Betty J. Wright was held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska with Betty’s son-in-law, Pastor Steve Breazier officiating. Interment followed at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford, Nebraska.

Barbara Kay Gagna, 76, of Denver, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2022 after 2 recent hospitalizations due to heart issues. She is preceded in death by her husband Larry Gagna, her parents Harvey and Lorraine Rupe from Cambridge, Nebraska and her brother Harvey Rupe Junior.

A Visitation for Darrel D. Maaske was held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, Nebraska, with the family greeting from 6:00 pm. to 7:30 p.m.
