West downs East at CSO All-Star Basketball games

Body The 2023 CSO All-Star games took place on Friday, May 26th. On the girls’ side, the West team won in overtime by two points. The west girls got an early lead, almost doubling the east girls’ score in the first quarter.

Coach Schuett of Gothenburg and Coach Gilson of Cozad are on the far left and far right. Breelle Miller of Cambridge played for the West girls due to a last minute drop out.

Cambridge’s CSO all-Star games set for friday

Body The 2023 Cambridge School Organization (CSO) All Star Basketball Game will take place in Cambridge on 5/26/23. The girls game will begin at 6pm and the boys will follow at 7:45 pm. This is the 38th annual addition of the event.
Rachel Harris ran a 2:26.67 800 meter, breaking Cambridge’s school record. The previous record of 2:28.3 was set in 2009. Harris placed fifth at state.

Body OMAHA - It was a weekend of great weather and great performances at the Class C and D portion of the State Track and Field Meet in Omaha. Fourteen area athletes took home medals, including a pair who brought home the ultimate prize.

Seven qualify for Class C State Track

Body Southern Valley Public Schools hosted the 2023 NSA C-8 District Track Meet. Three Southern Valley athletes qualified, and four Hi-Line athletes qualified. The Southern Valley girls team placed fifth overall while the Hi-Line girls placed tenth.

Twenty-Four qualify for Class D State Track

Body Arapahoe, Cambridge, and Southwest tracksters competed at the 2023 D-7 NSAA District Meet in Cambridge last Wednesday. Between the three schools, twenty-four athletes qualified for state: three from Arapahoe, nine from Southwest, and twelve from Cambridge.

Wrapping up the regular season at the Harsin Invite

Body ALMA - Area track teams wrapped up the regular season at Alma Thursday, competing at the Dale Harsin Invite. Local athletes won 17 of the meets 34 events and the Cambridge girls captured the team title while the Hi-Line boys did the same.
