Bulls take title at Cambridge; Wall, Garrett finish runner-up

Body CAMBRIDGE - The Hi-Line girls cross country team ran its way to the team title and two area runners finished runner-up individually at the Cambridge Cross County Invite Friday. For the girls’ teams, Hi-Line placed 1st, Cambridge placed 3rd, and Southern Valley placed 7th.

Cambridge, Southwest golfers compete at McCook

Body The Lady Roughriders and Lady Trojans golf teams competed at the McCook Invite last Friday. Southwest placed 6th of 9 teams with a score of 551. Emma Rasmussen of Cambridge placed the highest of both teams at 15th with a score of 110.

Eagles open season with road win

Body STAPLETON - By grinding out possessions and the clock, the Southern Valley football team won the fourth quarter and their season opener, 34-26, at Sandhills Valley Friday. The victory haulted a 12game losing skid for the Eagles and was their first win to open a season since 2018.
The Eagles’ Kody Collins rushed for two touchdowns in last week’s victory at Sandhills Valley.

Raiders drop opener to Mullen

Body MULLEN - The Medicine Valley football team fell in its first game of the season at Mullen Friday night. Mullen was first on the scoreboard with a touchdown four minutes into the game, but the Raider were quick to respond.

Warriors earn road sweep of Franklin to open season

Body FRANKLIN - The Arapahoe volleyball team took the road to Franklin last week and opened its season with a 3-0 victory over the Flyers. Arapahoe held the Flyers to a negative hitting eficiency in taking the 25-14, 26-24, 2518 victory.
