RAVENNA - A strong start didn’t materialize into a desired result as Southern Valley dropped Friday’s road trip to Ravenna, 48-22. The Eagles drove right down the field and scored on the opening possession of the game and led 6-0, but Ravenna scored the next 34 points to run away with the victory.

ARAPAHOE - With a sweep over Dundy County-Stratton (25-12, 25-16) and a comeback win over Hitchcock County (14-25, 25-1, 25-20), the Arapahoe volleyball team improved to 3-0 at its home triangular last Thursday.

ELWOOD - The Medicine Valley volleyball team picked up ots fourth win of the season last week as it took down Hi-Line on the road, 25-20, 25-11, 25-16. The Bulls fell to 0-2 on the young season.

SVA sweeps Chase County

STAMFORD - The Southern Valley/Alma softball dominated both ends of a doubleheader with Chase County Thursday, sweeping the twin bill, 18-2 and 14-1, to improve to 4-6 this season. Josa Dunse tossed a complete game in the opener and was supported by 11 runs in the first and seven more in the second as the Saints needed just three hits to put up 18 runs.

Arapahoe cruises past Loomis, 50-14

ARAPAHOE - Usually, in the first couple of possessions, you can get a feel for how a game is going to go. Well, we were deceived to start this game. It looked like it was going to be a grind-it-out to the end game after the first few possessions, but it was anything but that, as Arapahoe controlled the game and was able to take the game by a large margin, 50-14.

Bulls take title at Cambridge; Wall, Garrett finish runner-up

CAMBRIDGE - The Hi-Line girls cross country team ran its way to the team title and two area runners finished runner-up individually at the Cambridge Cross County Invite Friday. For the girls’ teams, Hi-Line placed 1st, Cambridge placed 3rd, and Southern Valley placed 7th.
