In a pair of high-scoring affairs, the Southern Valley/ Alma softball team swept a doubleheader from Hershey Thursday, winning 18-15 and 10-9 to grab their sixth and seventh wins of the season. SVA trailed 14-11 to the bottom of the fifth in game one, but scored times to take the lead, then held on over the final two innings to secure the victory.

Hi-Line volleyball grabs second win at North Platte

NORTH PLATTE - The Hi-Line volleyball team picked up its second win of the season as it took doqwn Hyannis in straight-sets Saturday. After dropping the first match of the day in consecutive sets to Paxton, Hi-Line swept past Hyannis 25-12, 25-16 to earn its second victory of the year.

Wolves split with Hitchcock, Wa-Pa

After suffering a 3-1 setback Tuesday to Hitchcock County, the Maywood-Hayes Center volleyball team bounced back with a 3-0 sweep of Wauneta-Palisade on Thursday to move back over .500 at 7-6 this season.

Trojans pass test in sweep of Southern Valley

SOUTHERN VALLEY - In a meeting of two of the league’s top teams, the Cambridge volleyball team passed the test with its passing and took a 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 win at Southern Valley Friday. The Trojans rolled in the first, but Southern Valley held the upper hand in the second and had an opportunity to even the match after Brecklyn Hammond served a pair of aces to put the Eagles up 2220 in the second.

Warriors, Eagles travel to Bertrand triangular

BERTRAND - The Arapahoe and Southern Valley volleyball teams each traveled to a triangular in Bertrand Thursday as the Eagles swept past the Warriors and Vikings, while Arapahoe dropped both matches. In the opener, Arapahoe led throughout the first set with Bertrand, but saw the Vikings close on a 6-2 run to take a 25-23 win.

SOUTHERN VALLEY - Behind a record-breaking performamce from senior running back Kody Collins, the Southern Valley football team opened its home slate by running all over the visting Maxwell Wildcats, 66-48, Thursday night.

NELSON - After a thoroughly controlled first half, the Arapahoe football team met some adversity early in Friday’s third quarter. The Warriors saw their 20-point halftime lead trimmed to 36-32 and had suffered an injury to starting center and nose guard Jacen Smith.

BARTLEY - Two RPAC heavyweightssquared off at a triangular Thursday as Southwest hosted Sutherland and Southern Valley. Each time dispatched the Sailros in straight-sets before the main event, which saw the Eagles take the opener before Southwest rallied to win the second and third sets to remain unbeaten eight matches into the season.
