Body HAYES CENTER - The Maywood-Hayes Center cross country meet took place last Thursday. Ten schools competed, and a few racers went head to head for places.

Body KEARNEY - The annual UNK Cross Country invite took place last Monday. Hi-Line, Medicine-Valley, Cambridge, Southern Valley, Southwest, and Maywood-Hayes Center competed along with roughly 150 other teams.

Body COZAD - Last Monday, the Lady Trojans Golf Team competed at the Cozad Invite. Senior Emma Rasmussen placed seventh and earned a medal to add to her collection. She scored a 101, even with a rough start to the course. Coach Calvert commented on her resilience.

Body SUTHERLAND - With another dominant weekend performance, the Southwest volleyball team laid claim to the tournament title at the Sutherland Invite Saturday, knocking off previouslyunbeaten and D2 top-ranked Overton in the championship match.

Body Kronhofman said that speed combined with play up front from Drew Knoerzer “who is almost unblockable” along with Bryce Reiners, Brodie Diefenbaugh and others and “you can see why they are rated so highly and are a very scary team.”

Body South Platte, Arthur County, and Hi-Line all rolled into Maywood last Tuesday for the Maywood-Hayes Center Volleyball Tournament. Hi-Line and South Platte kicked off the tournament.

Body ALMA - With a great start that includes grabbing a 22-0 lead in the second quarter, the Arapahoe football team was able to hold off Alma, 44-38, to improve to 4-0 this season and deal the Cardinals their first loss in five games.

Body The Arapahoe Cross Country Invite took place last Thursday, and Kael Garrett took home gold. Arapahoe, Medicine Valley, Hi-Line, Cambridge, Southwest, Southern Valley, and Maywood-Hayes Center all had runners competing.

Body MCCOOK - Alliance proved a major hurdle for both the Cambridge and Southwest volleyball teams Saturday at the McCook Invite as each otherwise took care of business.

Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - In a back-and-forth affair that saw both teams miss scoring opportunities, Cambridge quarterback Carson Trompke made a pair of huge plays to help the Trojans seal a 28-18 victory at Southern Valley Friday night.
