Wolves take down Bulls for tournament title

South Platte, Arthur County, and Hi-Line all rolled into Maywood last Tuesday for the Maywood-Hayes Center Volleyball Tournament. Hi-Line and South Platte kicked off the tournament. Both teams only having two wins on the season, both looking to improve and secure a spot in the championship match later that night. Hi-Line easily won set 1 with a score of 25-15. However, South Platte wasn’t going to give up that easily and came back to win set two 28-26. Both teams struggled with errors at the net as well as receiving throughout the match but Hi-Line found a way to win set 3 25-17. Hi-Line took the match 3 sets to 1.

Warriors take down Alma in battle of unbeatens

ALMA - With a great start that includes grabbing a 22-0 lead in the second quarter, the Arapahoe football team was able to hold off Alma, 44-38, to improve to 4-0 this season and deal the Cardinals their first loss in five games.

MCCOOK - Alliance proved a major hurdle for both the Cambridge and Southwest volleyball teams Saturday at the McCook Invite as each otherwise took care of business. Cambridge suffered its third defeat of the season to the Bulldogs, who outscrapped the Trojans in a 25-21, 2927 first round victory.

Bulls roll past ALC, 48-8

LOUP CITY - Behind 360 rushing yards and a stout defense, the Hi-Line football team rolled to a 48-8 victory at Arcadia-Loup City Friday night, moving to 3-1 on the season. The Bulls scored three times in the opening quarter and led 26-0 at the half before blowing the game open in the third, en route to the victory.

CHAPELL - Southwest’s football team battled more than one Storm Thursday night when the Roughriders won a shortened game over Creek Valley. The weather was all that could slow Southwest in the game.
