MCCOOK - The Southwest girls basketball team won its seventh game in eight tries with a 51-38 victory over Wauneta- Palisade in Saturday’s RPAC Tournament third-place contest. The Roughriders started slow and trailed 9-6 after a quarter, but the offense heated up from there and Southwest pulled away.

AMHERST - The Hi-Line boys basketball team halted a three-game losing skid with a comeback win in the first round of the FKC Tournament Saturday. BERTRAND - The Cambridge girls basketball team battled another of the top foes from the RPAC in a consolation contest Thursday at Bertrand, but closed out their tournament run with another close defeat, falling to topseeded Alma, 54-49.
