The Arapahoe junior high football team traveled to Cambridge on Thursday, September 30th, to take on the Trojans. The Warriors started the game off by recovering an onside kick. Carl Nordine put the Warriors on the board first when he broke free on a 22 yard touchdown run, and added the conversion to go up 8-0. Cambridge came right back and went down the field, but stalled out on the 15 yard line. The Warriors took advantage of getting the ball back, and this time Hayden Sich scored on a 50 yard touchdown run and Kade Fisher added the conversion to put the Warriors up 16-0. On the Trojans next possession, Sich forced a fumble that was recovered by Wyatt Soncksen on the Cambridge 35 yard line. Kade Fisher broke loose and scored from 25 yards out, but the play was called back due to a penalty. On the next play, Fisher found Briggs Hill for a nice pass, but he was marked down just short of the endzone as time expired in the first half. Cambridge kicked off in the second half and recovered an onside kick of their own. Cian McCorkle got the ball back for the Warriors when he fell on a Trojan fumble. The Warriors had to punt and the Trojans got the ball back. The Trojans found the endzone on a 30 yard run to cut the Warrior lead to 16-6. Again, the Trojans recovered an onside kick, but turned the ball over on downs. The Warriors came back and took the ball down the field. Sich finished off the drive for the Warriors on a 2 yard touchdown run to put the Warriors up 22-6. Cambridge turned the ball over again on downs on their next possession, and Nordine took the ball 40 yards on the first play for another score to put the Warriors up 28-6. Cambridge came right back and answered, running it in from 38 yards out to make the score 28-12. The Warriors next possession ended when Nate Stevens fumbled the toss from quarterback Hunter Jorschumb. Cambridge got the ball back and were unable to convert before time expired.
