Hi-Line sends Kranz, Keller to State Track

ORD - The Hi-Line boys finished fourth at the Class C8 District Track and Field Meet in Ord Thursday and qualified two indiividuals for this weekend’s Class C State Meet. The Bulls’ Jordan Kranz finished second in the 800 with a time of 2:07.68 to earn an automatic bid to State while Hi-Line’s Kody Keller ran a personal-best 11.4 in the finals of the 100 dash and finished fourth.

Southern Valley sends three to Class C State Track

HEBRON - Southern Valley participated in the Class C-7 District track and field meet held at Thayer Central High School. Both teams finished in seventh place. The Eagles have three state qualifiers in five events. Qualifiers are Clayton Berry: 110 high hurdles, long and triple jumps. Brianna Russell high jump and Brianna Quinn 400m dash. These athletes qualified for the 2019 state meet in the same events except Berry added the triple jump. It was a very competitive district meet with some of the top Class C athletes in the state. Arapahoe, Cambridge see golf season end at districts

BRIDGEPORT - The Arapahoe and Cambridge golf teams saw their seasons come to a close Monday at the District C5 Tournament in Bridgeport. The Trojans shot a 425 to finish seventh in the 13-team field, led by rounds of 96 and 98 from Caleb Shaner and Ethan Sides.

Eighteen area athletes qualify for State Track at District D7 Meet in Bertrand

BERTRAND - With wild cards to next week’s State Track and Field Meet in Omaha now official, three area school qualified  18 athletes to next week’s State Meet from the District D7 Meet in Bertrand Wednesday.

The Cambridge girls team continued its dominant season with another team title, outpacing Loomis, 133-79, for the district championship.

The Trojans qualified nine girls in 11 different events.

Paige Sickels swept titles in the 100 (13.25), 200 (27.98) and 400 (1:03.11) while teammate Jalen Kent was runner-up in the 200 (28.17) and qualified as well.

Southern Valley takes title at Knipping invite

ARAPAHOE - The Southern Valley golf team captured first place at the 2021 Knipping Invite, held in Arapahoe. The Eagles shot a team score of 333, beating out Loomis by 11 strokes for first place while Alma was third with a 370.

Area students earn NSAA Academic All-State Honors

The Nebraska School Activities Association (NSAA) is pleased to announce the student recipients of the Spring 2020-21 Nebraska Chiropractic Physicians Association (NCPA) Academic All-State Awards. Since 2006 this NSAA Award Program has recognized students who meet the criteria for nomination by their school in the season of their activity.

WILCOX - With a first-place relay and individual titles in all three sprint races, the Hi-Line boys track and field team finished runner-up at the Fort Kearney Conference Meet Friday. “It was agreat day to compete,” Coach Kurt Banzhaf said.
Hi-Line’s Ryker Evans took first in both the 200 and 400 at the FKC Meet Friday.
