Beaver City Council discusses nuisance properties

BEAVER CITY – Mayor Leighton Schmidt presided over the regular city council meeting on Monday, June 7, 2021, with five council members (Russell Rickert, Quinn Barnas, Kevin Harper, Becky Robinson, and Chris Joppa) present and Roger Powell absent.

Brenna Deterding of Cambridge competed in the 800 meter and the 1600 meter run Thursday morning at the 2021 State Track & Field Championship. Brenna also started off the Cambridge Girl’s 3200 meter relay, which ended up placing 8th.

Pair of Bulls compete at Class State Track

OMAHA - A pair of Hi-Line boys competed at the Class C State Track and Field Meet in Omaha last weekend, running well for the Bulls. Kody Keller posted a time of 11.42 in the 100 prelims, taking 15th place, but missing finals by .18 seconds.

Burgeson fires 96 in first round of State Golf Meet

NORTH PLATTE - Southern Valley’s Colton Burgeson fired a first round of 96 at the Class D State Golf Tournament at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte Tuesday. Burgeson sat in the middle of the pack with his second round set for Wednesday at the course.

Eagles’ Burgeson qualifies for State Golf

JOHNSON LAKE - Southern Valley’s Colton Burgeson had one of his best rounds of the season and finished sixth at the District D-4 Golf Meet at the Hi-Line County Club Monday. Burgeson led the Eagles to a team score of 360,w hich was fourth of 15 teams competing.

On to Omaha

BERTRAND - With wild cards to next week’s State Track and Field Meet in Omaha now official, three area school qualified 18 athletes to next week’s State Meet from the District D7 Meet in Bertrand Wednesday.
