BARTLEY - In a battle of two of the RPAC’s top volleyball teams, Southwest rallied from a set down to defeat Maywood-Hayes Center Thursday at a home triangular. The Wolves gave Southwest all it wanted at the Roughriders home triangular Sept.

BARTLEY - On a delayed opening night, the Southwest football team provided plenty of fireworks early and rolled to a 69-12 victory over Harvard. After its original opener a week earlier was scrapped in favor of a junior varsity contest, the Roughriders exploded for 36 points in the opening quarter and led 50-0 in the second.

ARNOLD - The Hi-Line football team used a pair of methodical drives and a big play through the air to jump on South Loup in the first half and coasted to the finish in a 28-6 victory over the Bobcats Friday afternoon.

ELM CREEK - The Southern Valley volleyball team had a tough time on the road the past week. The Eagles were swept in a pair of duels last week at Gothenburg and Cozad, then dropped both ends of a triangular at Elm Creek Tuesday.

BENKELMAN - With little break from competition, the Cambridge volleyball team swept three triangulars, dropping just one set in six matches to improve to 9-1 on the season entering another stern challenge Thursday at Overton.

BENKELMAN - The Arapahoe volleyball team earned a split at a triangular last Thursday, sweeping past Hitchcock County while falling in straight sets to Dundy County-Stratton. The Warriors made the winning plays late in a 25-22, 26-24 sweep of the Falcons as Emma Strand paced the offense with 12 kills and Clara Hilker added six and 13 digs.

BERTRAND - The Medicine Valley volleyball team battled through a pair of duels last week, dropping each in hard-fought fashion. Friday, the Raiders rolled in the opener, but dropped the next three in a 15-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-21 defeat to Arthur County.

The start of the Medicine Valley football season was a week later than other teams in the area. The Raiders kicked off their season last Friday with an 8-44 loss at Arthur County.

ARNOLD - The Hi-Line volleyball team capped a busy end of the week with a victory at South Loup Friday, a night after dropping both ends of a triangular at SEM. The Bulls were swept by the Mustangs Thursday and fell in three to Wilcox-Hildreth to fall to 1-4 on the season.

The Maywood/Hayes Center football team fell to 0-2 on the season with a 16-35 loss at home to Mullen Thursday. Mullen struck first, capping a 12-play drive to start the game with a third-and-goal touchdown.
