The Medicine Valley football team made the most of its final non-district game of the season with a win at Ansley-Litchfield Friday. The Raiders gave up the game’s first point on Ansley-Litchfield’s first drive, but MV had an answer.

The battle of the Wolves didn’t go the way of the Maywood/ Hayes Center football team last Friday in a 0-52 loss to district foe Loomis. Missing several key players, The Wolves trailed 0-44 at halftime.

ARAPAHOE - As both teams entered Friday’s contest with 0-3 records, the tilt between Arapahoe and Southern Valley was an opportunity for each to fill the win column. Through a number of body blows, Arapahoe played from in front, then dealt the knockout blow in the fourth quarter of a 50-26 victory over their county rival.

PLEASANTON - The Southern Valkey volleyball team had its most successful day of the season Saturday at the Pleasanton Tournament, earning victories over North Platte St. Pat’s and Pleasanton before falling to one-loss Osceola.

MAYWOOD - After both teams earned first-round victories Tuesday at the Maywood Tournament, the Maywood/ Hayes Center volleyball team took down Hi-Line in straight sets in the championship to improve to 15-3 on the season.

SOUTHERN VALLEY Arapahoe swept both ends of a triangular at Southern Valley Thursday while the Eagles earned a split of the evening with a three-set victory over Bertrand. The Warriors took down the Vikings 25-13, 25-13 and downed the Eagles, 25-21, 25-16 to improve to 8-6 on the season.

CENTRAL CITY - The Southern Valley/Alma softball team grabbed a home victory Thursday over Hershey, 7-2, before splitting a triangular at Central City on Monday to move to 8-10 on the season. The Saints downed Ord Monday, 6-2, before falling to one of the tops teams in the State in Class C, Central City, by a score of 13-1.

Trojans edge Wolves for Arapahoe title as 12 athletes earn medals.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge football finally popped the top on its home schedule Friday night, welcoming a young Axtell team short on depth and experience. From the outset, the Trojans’ size overwhelmed the Wildcats as Cambridge rushed their way to 506 yards and a 60-0 lead at the half before taking a 68-0 victory.

BARTLEY - The Southwest volleyball team is starting to have that look again. The Roughriders, who went undefeated through last year’s regular season, steamrolled four opponents over the past week to improve to 10-0 on the season entering Saturday’s trip to the McCook Invite.
