Homecourt advantage wasn’t enough for Cambridge’ boys basketball team to hold off Maywood Hayes Center Friday evening. The Trojans started off on the right foot, taking an 8-3 lead, but never pulled away.

NORTH PLATTE - The Southwest, Hi-Line and Medicine Valley girls wrestling teams returned from the break to compete at the North Platte Invite Saturday. The Roughriders scored 155 team points to finish third in back of Gering and North Platte.

LINCOLN - As part of its biannual high school football scheduling procedure, the Nebraska School Activities Association announced classifications and district assignments for the the 2026 and 2027 seasons in mid-December.

PAXTON - In a night of comebacks, both the Cambridge boys and girls basketball teams earned victories on the road at Paxton Saturday. In the opener, the boys struggled to slow the Tigers in the first and gave up 43 first-half points to fall in a 12-point hole at the break.

BARTLEY - Behind 31 points from sophomore guard Aspen Billeter, the Southwest girls basketball team rallied from an eightpoint deficit in the last five minutes for a 56-49 win over Southern Valley Saturday.

PLEASANTON - The Arapahoe boys wrestling team returned from the holiday break to finish fifth out of 25 teams at the Pleasanton Invite Saturday. Five Warriors medaled, led by Briggs Hill, who remained unbeaten with a firstplace finish at 144 pounds.

The Arapahoe girls defeated Maxwell, 71-32, Tuesday as Emma Strand scored a game-high 20 points. The boys fell to the Wildcats, 66-44.
