CAMBRIDGE - In welcoming an undefeated foe for senior night, the Cambridge football team did about everything but win the game Thursday as the Trojans pushed Hitchcock County to the brink, but fell 20-14 in overtime.

ALMA - The Hi-Line football team hit jumped in the opening quarter of Friday’s contest at Alma and couldn’t recover in a 64-34 loss to the Cardinals that ended their season at 2-6. Alma scored three times in the first quarter and led 22-0 before the Bulls restored some order with a pair of secondquarter scores.

ARAPAHOE - With an outside chance at qualifying for the playoffs if they upset visiting North Platte St. Pat’s, the Arapahoe football team leaned on its defense for a first half lead, but couldn’t manage enough offense as the Irish pulled away in the second half for a 35-2 win, ending the Warriors’ season at 2-6.

BENKELMAN - The Southern Valley football team wrapped up its season in one of the more odd situations a high school football team has faced. Traveling to Benkelman for Thursday’s season finale, the Eagles contest against undefeated Dundy County-Stratton was delayed by a thunderstorm.

BARTLEY - Friday night’s top five tilt between fourthranked Sumner-Eddyville-Miller and fifth-ranked Southwest turned out to be more of a notice than a showdown. The Roughriders are pretty good.

BARTLEY - The challengers keep coming for the Roughriders, but the Southwest football team keeps passing with flying colors. Southwest welcomed 4-1 Wauneta-Palisade Friday and jumped the Broncos at the outset, blitzing them with 36 points in the first half on their way to a 55-12 win to improve to 6-0 on their season.

ELWOOD - The Arapahoe football squad leaned on its defense and special teams while getting just enough offense for a 20-14 win at Hi-Line Friday night. The Warriors rushed for 225 yards, 75 of that coming on a second quarter touchdown run from Hayden Sich, who lead the team with 159 yards on 16 carries.

ARAPAHOE - At the always-challenging Arapahoe Golf Course, Medicine Valley’s Kael Garrett and the Hi-Line girls cross country team took first place at the RPAC Meet Thursday. Garrett ran a 17:44, which was 40 seconds better than second-place Max Hanson of Wallace.

NORTON - It’s not always pretty or efficient, but the Arapahoe volleyball team is finding ways to get the job done. With five-set road victories over Axtell and Norton the past two Tuesdays, sandwiched around sweeps of Northern Valley and Hi-Line, the Warriors have won sixstraight and have pushed their record to 14-8 entering Thursday’s RPAC Tournament.

The Cambridge volleyball team picked up its 18th win of the season with a 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 victory over Hi-Line Thursday. Annabelle Taylor and Brooklyn Holtze each served four aces as the Trojans flustered the Bulls with their serve throughout the match.
