Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - The Southern Valley girls basketball team beat Bertrand and Centennial last Thursday and Saturday. The Eagles defeated the Vikings 54-12 and the Broncos 53-43.

Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - The Southern Valley boys basketball team came out of Christmas break with two losses last Thursday and Saturday. The Eagles, now 6-6, lost to Bertrand 49-38 and Broken Bow 67-52.

Warriors drop Raiders in girls hoops battle

Body The return from the holiday break wasn’t kind to the Medicine Valley girls basketball team as the Raiders lost a close 46-42 game at Arapahoe Friday. MV played a strong first quarter against the 6-6 Warriors.

Arapahoe holds off Med Valley

Body Although the Medicine Valley boys basketball team stayed within striking distance of Arapahoe, the Warriors did enough to pull away late for a 41-32 victory Friday night. Both teams were slow to get going offensively.

Body PAXTON - After a huge victory last Friday, Cambridge traveled to Paxton the next day to take on the Tigers. Despite an impressive attempt at a last-minute comeback, the Trojans fell 55-60.

Body PAXTON - Riding high from a victory against undefeated Maywood-Hayes Center, Cambridge traveled to Paxton and fell short of a victory. The Lady Trojans lost 26-36, making their record 7-3.
