She was born on February 18, 1931, in the “Little Brown House” in Arapahoe, Nebraska, to Frank and Florence (Heinen) tenBensel. Gladys graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1949, where she was an active member of the choir—a passion for singing that stayed with her throughout her life.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ed Wood will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. CST at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, Nebraska, with Retired Pastor Stan Murdoch officiating. Casual attire is requested by the family. Interment will follow at the Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, Nebraska.

Danuel Lee Ruf, better known as Danny or Ban, was born on August 23, 1954 to Manuel and Margalee (Lyons) Ruf in McCook, Nebraska. He passed away at his rural Wilsonville home on April 14, 2025 at the age of 70.
