Body The Southern Valley boys basketball team picked up its eighth win of the season with a 50-37 win at Gibbon Tuesday, then dropped its 11th contest of the season with a 60-40 defeat at Dundy County-Stratton Friday.

Body ALMA - A night after a comeback effort fell short at Norton, the Cambridge boys basketball team hit the road again and grabbed a 55-45 victory at Alma.

Body CURTIS - The Hi-Line boys basketball team put up 35 points in the first half to build a 15-point lead, then had to hang on for a 54-47 victory over Medicine Valley Monday.

Body LEXINGTON - With a team score of 2669, the Arapahoe girls bowling team captured the District B-6 Title last Wednesday and qualified for the Class B State Tournament in Lincoln Tuesday.

Body KENESAW - After runaway champion Amherst, the Hi-Line wrestling team was the best of the rest, taking runner-up honors at the FKC/ TVC Wrestling Tournament in Kenesaw. The Bulls scored 106 points, edging Loomis/Bertrand with 105 and Pleasanton with 103 for runner-up team honors.

Body Postseason competitiion has arrived for boys wrestling and girls basketball teams. While girls wrestling wrapped up district competition last weekend, boys will hit the mat Friday and Saturday trying to qualify for next weekend’s State Tournament in Omaha.

Body BRIDGEPORT - With pins in both the quarterfinals and the semifinals Saturday, Southwest freshman Madelyn Tryon qualified for the Girls State Wrestling Meet next weekend in Omaha.
