Body The Southern Valley boys basketball team picked up its eighth win of the season with a 50-37 win at Gibbon Tuesday, then dropped its 11th contest of the season with a 60-40 defeat at Dundy County-Stratton Friday.

Body CURTIS - The Hi-Line boys basketball team put up 35 points in the first half to build a 15-point lead, then had to hang on for a 54-47 victory over Medicine Valley Monday.

Hi-Line takes runner-up at FKC/TVC Meet

Body KENESAW - After runaway champion Amherst, the Hi-Line wrestling team was the best of the rest, taking runner-up honors at the FKC/ TVC Wrestling Tournament in Kenesaw. The Bulls scored 106 points, edging Loomis/Bertrand with 105 and Pleasanton with 103 for runner-up team honors.
Arapahoe’s Jacen Smith earned third place at the Southwest Invite Friday. The Warriors finished 12th at the meet, a spot in front of the host Roughriders. Cambridge finished fourth and Southern Valley was fifth. Complete results can be found on Pages B4 and B5.

Postseason begins for wrestling, girls basketball teams

Body Postseason competitiion has arrived for boys wrestling and girls basketball teams. While girls wrestling wrapped up district competition last weekend, boys will hit the mat Friday and Saturday trying to qualify for next weekend’s State Tournament in Omaha.
