Body WAUNETA - With a gutsy finish to game one and a workmanlike showing in game two, the Cambridge boys basketball team started its season with consecutive victories over Hitchcock County (43-36) and Wauneta-Palisade (48-28) last weekend.

Body ELM CREEK - After an awful start doomed their hopes in the opener, the Southern Valley boys basketball team leaned on its defense to hang around in game two at Elm Creek Saturday night, but couldn’t find enough scoring punch.

Body BARTLEY - The Southwest boys basketball team split its first two games of the season, winning 70-57 at Medicine Valley Thursday before dropping a 63-41 decision to Maywood-Hayes Center at home Saturday.

Body ARAPAHOE - With a pair of strong opponents to start the season, the Arapahoe boys basketball team dropped its first two contests of the year, falling at Overton, 59-23, Thursday before returning home for a 73-50 setback against Dundy County-Stratton Friday.
