CAMBRIDGE - After a tough-to-swallow defeat in the first round of the Cambridge Holiday Tournament, the Trojans’ girls basketball team finished third with a resounding victory over Dundy County-Stratton in the consolation game.

ARAPAHOE - After a tough first round matchup turned the Warriors to the third place game, the Arapahoe boys basketball team finished fourth at the Bob Braithwait Holidat Tournament last week in Arapahoe.

CAMBRIDGE - With some late-game theatrics, the Cambridge boys basketball team captured first place at the Cambridge Holiday Tournament last week. After cruising past Crawford in the opening round Tuesday, the Trojans battled, but couldn’t get over the hump that was Mullen’s slow and stodgy preference of play.

PLEASANTON - The Arapahoe wrestling team finished fifth at the Kurt Keaschall Invite at Pleasanton, returning from the holiday break with four medalists and 122 points. Levi Kerner remained undefeated at heavyweight, pinning his way through four matches to a title.

ARAPAHOE - The Arapahoe girls basketball team stayed above .500 by taking third at the Bob Braithwait Holiday Tournament in Arapahoe last week. The Warriors started sluggishly Monday as North Platte St.

FRANKLIN - With huge scoring outbursts in the second and fourth quarters, the Hi-Line boys basketball team overcame Franklin on the road Friday for a 69-52 victory. The Bulls used a 23-point second quarter to build a 38-29 lead at the half, then after seeing the lead slip away in the third, scored 23 more in the fourth to roll away to the victory.

BARTLEY - A late flurry came up just short Tuesday night as the Southern Valley boys basketball team held off Southwest for a 56-54 win to earn the Eagles’ second win of the season. Southwest fell to 3-5.

ALMA - With consistent scoring throughout, the Southwest boys basketball team ran away with a 53-30 victory at Alma last week, controlling the contest until blowing it open in the fourth quarter. The Roughriders held the Cardinals in check all night and jumped to an 11-7 lead after a quarter before building a 25-15 lead at the half.
