MAYWOOD - After a bit of a struggle for a set against Rawlins County, the Southwest volleyball team needed no time at all to dispatch of host Maywood-Hayes Center at the Wolves triangular last week.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge football team took a few gut punches Friday night from visiting Amherst. The Trojans trailed for a good deal of the contest, deficits created by Cambridge mistakes and Broncos’ opportunism.

ARAPAHOE - Fighting from behind throughout the night, the Arapahoe football team did enough to stay in striking range against Lawrence-Nelson Friday night. Then, in the final minute, the Warriors struck for the win.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge girls cross country team took its secondconsecutive title to start the season as all five local schools competed at the Cambridge Cross Country invite Friday morning at Cross Creek Golf Links.

Southern Valley split a pair of duel matches against Class C 1 competition last week, sweeping Cozad while being swept by Gothenburg.

The Arapahoe volleyball team nabbed its first win of the season by downing Dundy County-Stratton at a triangular with Hitchcock County Thursday. The Warriors wept the Tigers 25-18, 25-21 while also falling to Hitchcock County.

CAMBRIDGE - The Cambridge volleyball team dropped its first match of the season Thursday with a three-set defeat to Alma. Cambridge bounced back with a sweep of Bertrand to finish the evening 4-1 for the season.

BLUE HILL - The Southern Valley football team dropped a 44-12 decision at Blue HIll Friday. The Eagles found some success moving the ball on the ground, rushing for 113 yards as a team, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Bobcats, who grabbed their second win of the season.

The Hi-Line football team used a big fourth quarter to grab its first win of the season Friday, downing Elm Creek 36-18 to even their record at 1-1. The Bulls scored three times in the fourth quarter, blowing open a game they led 14-6 through three.
