BARTLEY - In a rematch of a regular season meeting three weeks earlier, the Southwest football team received a much tougher challenge from visiting Sumner-Eddyville-Miller Friday night in the D6 quarterfinals. But while a a prolific offense sputtered at times, the Roughriders showed they could win with grit, turning away the Mustangs, 27-23, to earn their 10th win of the season advance to Friday’s State semifinals at Red Cloud.

LINCOLN - After a dominant third set victory, the Cambridge volleyball team had closed to within a set of a State Championship Saturday Morning at John Cook Arena in Lincoln. Playing in their second Class D2 State Championship in three years, the Trojans looked and played like they’d been there before, controlling two of the first three sets with service pressure, lots of offense and poise.
