BENKELMAN - The Southern Valley football team wrapped up its season in one of the more odd situations a high school football team has faced. Traveling to Benkelman for Thursday’s season finale, the Eagles contest against undefeated Dundy County-Stratton was delayed by a thunderstorm.

Southwest welcomed 4-1 Wauneta-Palisade Friday and jumped the Broncos at the outset, blitzing them with 36 points in the first half on their way to a 55-12 win to improve to 6-0 on their season.

ELWOOD - The Arapahoe football squad leaned on its defense and special teams while getting just enough offense for a 20-14 win at Hi-Line Friday night. The Warriors rushed for 225 yards, 75 of that coming on a second quarter touchdown run from Hayden Sich, who lead the team with 159 yards on 16 carries.
NORTH PLATTE - Southwest Maddy Tryon wrapped up her golf season with a 69th place finish at the Class C Girls State Golf Tournament in North Platte this week. Tryon shot a 108 on Monday and followed it up with a 104 Tuesday.

ARAPAHOE - At the always-challenging Arapahoe Golf Course, Medicine Valley’s Kael Garrett and the Hi-Line girls cross country team took first place at the RPAC Meet Thursday. Garrett ran a 17:44, which was 40 seconds better than second-place Max Hanson of Wallace.

With five-set road victories over Axtell and Norton the past two Tuesdays, sandwiched around sweeps of Northern Valley and Hi-Line, the Warriors have won sixstraight and have pushed their record to 14-8 entering Thursday’s RPAC Tournament.

The Cambridge volleyball team picked up its 18th win of the season with a 25-8, 25-8, 25-12 victory over Hi-Line Thursday. Annabelle Taylor and Brooklyn Holtze each served four aces as the Trojans flustered the Bulls with their serve throughout the match.
