MCCOOK - A night after a semifinals loss to Maywood-Hayes Center, the Arapahoe boys basketball team bounced back with a solid 51-43 victory over Hitchcock County to clinch third place at the Cattle Trail Tournament.

MCCOOK - The Arapahoe girls basketball team grabbed a victory before finishing sixth at the Cattle Trail Tournament in McCook last week. After dropping the opening round game with Medicine Valley, the Warriors bounced back with a 48-38 victory over Hitchcock County Friday.

Roughriders travel to Osceola Invite

OSCEOLA - Five Southwest wrestlers traveled for the team to the Osceola Invite Saturday. Luis Escobar Salas finished fifth at 215 pounds at lead the Roughriders while Gage Hammond (120), Gavin Hammond (150), Caleb Heskett (157) and Kade Schaffert (285) each participated as well, but came up short of victories..

Trojans medal three at Twin Loup Invite

SARGENT - With a shortened roster due to a number of early-season injuries, the Cambridge wrestling team competed at the Twin Loup Invite Friday, taking three medals while finishing eighth. Micah Gerlach led the team with a first-place finish at 120, collecting three pins and a major decision along the way.

CAMBRIDGE - The Lady Trojans had two more wins this week to make their record 4-1. Last Friday Cambridge took on the South Loup Bobcats and won 49-25, coming back strong after a tough loss to Southern Valley the game before.

The Hi-Line boys basketball team took to the road last week and grabbed a pair of victories, winning at Maxwell in convincing fashion before pulling out a late win at Pleasanton Friday. The Bulls improved to 3-1 on the season.

OXFORD - The Lady Eagles continue undefeated after winning 59-29 against the Overton Eagles last Saturday. Southern Valley continued their trend of agressive defense and had with fifteen steals, creating several fastbreak opportunities for themselves.
