Body SOUTHERN VALLEY - Behind a record-breaking performamce from senior running back Kody Collins, the Southern Valley football team opened its home slate by running all over the visting Maxwell Wildcats, 66-48, Thursday night.

Body NELSON - After a thoroughly controlled first half, the Arapahoe football team met some adversity early in Friday’s third quarter. The Warriors saw their 20-point halftime lead trimmed to 36-32 and had suffered an injury to starting center and nose guard Jacen Smith.

Body BARTLEY - Two RPAC heavyweightssquared off at a triangular Thursday as Southwest hosted Sutherland and Southern Valley.

Body It took three games, but the Medicine Valley football team finally played a game in front of its own fans last week. The Raiders came up on the short end of the stick, however, falling to Overton 0-56.

Body The Maywood/Hayes Center football team fell to 1-2 on the season with a loss to Silver Lake Friday in Maywood.

Body IMPERIAL - Cambridge, Southwest, and Maywood-Hayes Center each competed against eight other schools at the large Chase County Meet last Thursday. The Lady Trojans led the girls, with Brenna Deterding, Rachel Harris, and JoLie Farr placing 10th, 19th, and 23rd.

Body LEXINGTON - Hi-Line, Southern Valley, and Arapahoe cross country teams faced tough competition at the September 5th meet in Lexington. On the girl’s side, Olivia Wall of Hi-Line lead once again.

Body LEXINGTON - The Southwest Girls’ Golf Team competed at Perkins County on Tuesday, September 5th. Two girls, Elizabeth Townsend and Abigail Sedlacek, placed in the top ten. Townsend placed 6th and Sedlacek tied for ninth, but took tenth in the tie-breaker.

Body BROKEN BOW - The Medicine Valley and Hi-Line cross country teams competed at Broken Bow last Saturday in one of the largest meets of the season. For the boys, Kael Garret of Medicine Valley led in 11th place.

Body GOTHENBURG - The Southern Valley/Alma softball team hit the road for a busy week last week and took down Lexington before falling to Cozad and Gothenburg.
