NORFOLK - For the thirdconsecutive year, the Southern Valley journalism team finished State Runner-Up at the NSAA’s Class C State Journalism contest. Nebraska Corn supportive of E15 waiver, further actions to lower pump prices

The Nebraska Corn Board (NCB) and Nebraska Corn Growers Association (NeCGA), collectively known as Nebraska Corn, are thankful U.S. drivers will have continued access to E15. President Joe Biden announced the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) would issue a national, emergency waiver to allow the fuel to be sold this summer. Without the waiver, retailers would’ve been unable to sell E15 from June 1 through Sept. 15 across most of the country.

10 years ago Good Samaritan Society, Arapahoe’s annual Volunteer Luncheon was held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday, April 18. Volunteers of the Year were awarded to two groups the first group was the Men’s Coffee Group consisting of close to 15 men.

Many thanks and grateful appreciation to the Wilsonville Volunteer Fire Department, men driving water tankers, and all of the other local fire departments that raced to put out the garage fire last Friday in Wilsonville during that high wind storm. Quick response no doubt stopped the fire from spreading, saved many homes, and averted an even worse disaster! Pamela Shoemaker
