A rosary service for Robert “Bob” Barnes, 72, of South Heart formerly of New England will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2023 at at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service.

Nearly 1.2 million Americans live in nursing homes today. The vast majority of those Americans are seniors, people who urgently need the specialized care that long-term nursing facilities provide.

The Arapahoe City Council approved a $50,000 match commitment for the Rural Workforce Housing Fund application. Bobbi Pettit of 5 Rule to the council that If Arapahoe is approved for the fund the $50,000 will be transferred to the Republican Valley Golden Years Foundation. If approved the state will put in $200,000 to be part of the revolving loan fund. The Republican Valley Golden Years Foundation will be the administrator of the fund that will be for new construction, repair or rehab, and housing development. There are no limitations on income for owner/occupants. The vision of the revolving loan fund is to create a revenue stream for the Republican Valley Golden Years on the interest of the loans. 5 Rule will continue as a consultant working for the city on the fund; overseeing projects, audits and submitting reports to the DED.

Advent is the season of reflective preparation for Christ's Nativity at Christmas and Christ's expected return in the Second Coming.
