Dear Curtis Citizens: I want to thank the Mayor and City Council for appointing me and allowing me to help run our beautiful City for the last year and half and the next year to come. Although, I am not a Curtis native, I moved here as fast as I could and have made Curtis my home for life.

Two weeks after the two needed overtime to settle a regular season result, secondseeded Cambridge leaned on its defense and shut down seventh-seeded Southwest for a 55-30 victory in Saturday’s first round. Southwest countered to close within 12-8 after a quarter after trailing 10-0 to start, but the Trojans dominated the middle quarters.

Farm estate, transition workshops planned at Imperial, McCook

Nebraska Extension in partnership with Mid-Plains Community College will host estate and transition planning workshops for farmers and ranchers in Imperial and Mc-Cook in February. Nebraska Extension Educator, Shannon Sand, will offer tools and strategies to effectively plan, start, and complete estate plans, offer background on common mistakes during the process, and highlight essential considerations for creating and carrying out estate and succession plans.

CAMBRIDGE - Cambridge Public Schools held a pair of school board planning workshops around the holidays to discuss facility needs. While the planning sessions also included academic and staffing needs, facilities are a large priority.

CURTIS - The 2024 Republican Plains Activities Conference Basketball Tournament opened play Saturday with first round games in the East played at Medicine Valley High School in Curtis. The Southern Valley girls certainly didn’t need a 40-point morning from Ann Bose in Saturday’s 64-28 triumph over seventh-seeded Bertrand, but they got one anyway.

Elwood Spring Gala is a Community tradition

The Elwood Area Foundation will host the 13th Annual Spring Gala on March 16th. The community fundraiser has become an annual tradition with proceeds from the event supporting community projects and youth programs and projects.

60TH ANNIVERSARY

The family of Charles and Thelma Dunlap of Kearney would like to honor their 60th wedding anniversary with a card shower. Charles and Thelma were married at the First Christian Church in Arapahoe on February 4,1964. They are blessed with 3 children, Brad and Michelle Dunlap, Elkhorn, Bryan Dunlap (deceased), and Nicole and Jason Anderson, Norfolk. They have 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
