Polston appointed to Arapahoe City Council

The Arapahoe City Council met for their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:30 pm. A public hearing for the one and six year plan was opened before moving into the council meeting. The plan must be submitted every year in order to fund the projects on the plan. None of the plans are set in stone, but the plan must still be submitted. Last year’s projects that were worked on were the main street and Landmark project. The six year plan has a lot of focus on the west side of the highway, milling and resurfacing.

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn at least a 3.5 grade point average, be enrolled in 12 credit hours of coursework, be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, and have no incomplete grades during the semester.

Wolves roll past Potter-Dix for district title

MAYWOOD - Any suspense in the District D2-2 Final quickly dissipated Saturday as Maywood-Hayes Center held visiting Potter-Dix scoreless over the first 12 minutes of the game, built a 27-0 lead and rolled to a 60-21 victory, clinching a berth at the State Tournament.
The “bench” loves the play of those on the floor as Maywood-Hayes Center downed Potter-Dix Saturday.

RLOP students attend workshop in Lincoln

Chadron State College’s Rural Law Opportunities Program (RLOP) students attended the Nebraska State Bar Association Leadership Academy (NSBA) in Lincoln, Nebraska, Feb. 1-2. The sessions were planned to help the RLOP students understand more about legislation, and the Nebraska legislative process and counsel, according to Kate Pope RLOP Project Coordinator.

Cambridge offense stalls in district final loss

LITCHFIELD - After a 5432 setback in Thursday’s Subdistrict final at Dundy County-Stratton, the Cambridge boys basketball team earned itself a trip to a district final Saturday via wild card. But against another of the top teams in Class D1, the Trojans’ offense was suffocated by an active zone defense as Ansley-Litchfield rolled away to a 46-23 win to clinch a State Tournament berth.
