March 12 We’ve had another week of up and down weather, one that started out with really nice warm days, then a snowy day, then more nice days. It’s pretty hard not to want to start spring yard and gardening work. But it is getting close to that time.

Eustis, NE - Allison Wall a junior at Eustis-Farnam has been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State June 2-8, 2024, on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Wall will study local, county and state government processes in this nonpartisan political learning experience.

Dominik Delos, student at Medicine Valley, participated in the regional spelling bee in Omaha on Saturday, March 9. Although he made it through the first round, he was subsequently eliminated.

Trojan relays begin 2024 track season

CAMBRIDGE - Southern Valley, Southwest, and Cambridge competed at the Trojans relays last Saturday. On the girls' and boys' sides, Cambridge placed first as a team, Southwest placed second, and Southern Valley placed third.

Indianola City Council approves playground payment

The Indianola City Council opened the March 18, 2024 by approving minutes of March 4, 2024 as written. Councilmember Fries then moved to approve the February 2024 Treasurer Report and file for audit. Blume seconded the motion, and the motion passed. The previously tabled building permit for Kristal Payton at 216 S 7th Street was also approved. The property lines were inspected and located, and after clarifications were made, the council saw no other issues with the permit. The council approved the 2024 Lawn Care Program Contract with Double D Lawn & Landscaping from Mc-Cook to maintain the city park and baseball fields for the summer.

The Republican Plains Activity Conference has announced the 2023-2024 All-Conference Basketball Teams. In the Girls East Division, First Team selections included Stella Heapy of Medicine Valley, and Ann Bose and Adi Hunt, of Southern Valley.
