Recently, the Curtis community was invited to a public meeting to gain information regarding updates to the Curtis Swimming Pool. The committee has been working closely with Miller & Associates to determine the best option for the swimming facility.

Lee’s Crossroad Café Opens in Arapahoe

After months of rehab and hard work Lee’s Crossroads Café in Arapahoe is ready to open. After a slight delay due to a medical emergency, the café has opened on Wednesday, November 8. Erick Lee, his wife Maranda and some of their grown children will be working the café along with the other employees they have hired. Lee is running the back with Maranda running the front.

Tomlin to transition to Cambridge utilities Supervisor

Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, November 6, 2023. After the Pledge of Allegiance, a Public Hearing was held to discuss the Citizen Advisory Report. Melissa Jackson presented about the Citizen Advisory meeting. Members of the Citizen Advisory Committee reviewed the report provided by Courtney Stanton including 2 internships, 5 façade grants, and 2 workforce housing requests. After closing the Public Hearing, the Council approved the Citizen Advisory Report.

Village of Oxford renews nuisance abatement contract

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees heard the concerns of residents regarding people speeding when coming into and leaving town on East Cornwall Street during their meeting on Monday, November 6, 2023. Travis Fisher spoke to the board saying he has seen a lot of close calls and does not want to see someone get hurt or killed.

Community Hospital announces Becky Felker as 2023 Caring Kind Recipient

McCook, Nebraska—Community Hospital is excited to announce the hospital’s 2023 Caring Kind recipient is Becky Felker, LPN, a nurse with Community HealthCare and Hospice. She was honored in October as Community Hospital’s Caring Kind recipient during the Nebraska Hospital Association annual convention in La Vista. During the convention, Felker was a guest at the Caring Kind luncheon along with other recipients from across the state.

Arapahoe-Holbrook High School students One Act Play performance was held on November 13th. “One Stoplight Town” by Tracy Wells depicts a small town where people either want to get away from it or come back to it. RPAC competitions will be Nov. 15 in Holdrege at the Tassel at 12:30 pm and District will be at Southwest High on Nov. 27.
