Quilts of Honor presented to Arapahoe Veterans

The Arapahoe American Legion Post #96 and Prairie Quilt Guild members partnered to honor local veterans November 13 at the Legion Hall. Five veterans were recognized and honored for their service to our nation with quilts from Prairie Quilt Guild members Mary Kay Warner, Sarah Leising, Geri Steinbrink and Judy Thompson of Arapahoe. Guild members Marilyn Ellner and Janet Kugler of Holdrege were also in attendance. Prairie Quilt Guild of Holdrege is a Chapter of the Quilts of Honor organization, which provided the quilts for the presentation. Receiving quilts at the Legion Hall were (l-r) Larry Von Loh, Wayne Lee, James Reiter and Neale Schroeder. Charles Niehaus, Jr. received his quilt in a separate ceremony at his home. These veterans all served in the Army or the Army National Guard from 1951 to 1988.

Dr. Jaeger Receives Caring Kind Award

The Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA) recognized Nebraska member hospital employees by bestowing them with the organization’s prestigious The Caring Kind award. Among the awarded was Dr.
Nebraska Hospital Association President Jeremy Nordquist presents the Caring Kind Award to Tri Valley Health System’s Dr. Shiuvaun Jaeger at the Nebraska Hospital Conference last week.

Roads Standards Board to Meet

Nov. 9, 2023 (Lincoln, Neb.) — The Nebraska Board of Public Roads Classifi cations and Standards will meet on Nov. 17, at 9:00 a.m., at the Nebraska Department of Transportation Central Headquarters Building Auditorium, 1500 Nebraska Parkway in Lincoln. This meeting is open to the public.
