OXFORD - Village of Oxford Clerk Becky Calderone resigned her position as clerk/treasurer at the end of the regular board meeting on Monday, February 13, 2023. Calderone has taken another position.

BARTLEY - The Southwest Board of Education met Monday to approve a pair of staff hires for next school year as well as the Master Calendar for the 2023-24 school year. After approval of old business items, the Board acted to fill a pair of open positions.

The Cambridge School Board met in regular session on Monday, February 13, 2023, at 7:00 pm. Board member Jason Houghtelling was absent from the meeting.

During the regular meeting of the Southern Valley School Board on Monday, February 13, the master contract for professional staff was approved. Teachers had agreed to a base raise of $1,000 putting it at $37,250. There were some changes to the extra duty schedule as well. Superintendent Bryce Jorgenson said some things brought up during negotiations was that Kansas schools were paying more, which is not the case.

Almost 50 Cambridge Team-Mates took to the court for TeamMates Recognition Night on February 7 during the basketball games with Arapahoe.

Cambridge Unit 199 of the American Legion Auxiliary met in regular session on February 9 at the Community Building at 2:12 p.m. with 6 members present. After Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Prayer and Preamble, President Witte called the meeting to order.

Area Christian Women’s Connection, affiliated with Stonecraft Ministries will meet at Kirk’s on Tuesday, February 21, 2023. Speaker will be Sulvana Airan. She will share her experiences as she grew up in Pakistan. She came to the United States as a student and is now an American citizen. She will also display artifacts from Pakistan.
