100 Years Ago September 28, 1922 The peaceful slumber of Oxford citizens was again interrupted by the fire whistle at about 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning. The old corn crib just across the tracks south of the depot belonging to the Farmers Elevator began to blaze but the boys had it out in ten minutes with only partial damage to the building.
