10 years ago Bartley Village Board president Jim Morris revealed that after interviews last Monday, the board had hired Ronni Harding to be new Bartley Village Clerk. At an Indianola City Council meeting the board purchased two solar powered flashing speed limit signs at a cost of $12,010 each.

25 Years Ago March 6, 1997 Donna Dixon retired February 28 after 16 years as Furnas County Clerk Magistrate. The Beaver City Fire Department responded to a tractor fire at the Dennis Clason farm Monday.

The Cambridge City Council met in regular session on Monday, March 7, 2022. Council members Vernita Sailor and Derek Raburn were absent. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Council approved the Consent Agenda Items.

The Indianola City Council met briefly Monday to approve some old business, a bid to install new doors at the library and a pair of additions to the fire roster. After approval of the minutes and claims, the Council discussed and approved a bid to replace both the front and rear doors at the library.

The ground was actually white Monday Morning! Here on The Hill, it was only covered with about ¾” of snow, but it was white. Now if the weatherman can just come through with more of the promised moisture later this week. If he doesn’t come through with some moisture this spring, that wheat that has been forward contracted for $10 or so a bushel may not be available to deliver.
