Tri Valley Health System Diabetes Support Group

The Tri Valley Health System monthly diabetes support group will be held on Monday, March 7 at 5:00 p.m. in the Meadowlark Meeting Room, which can be accessed through the Wellness Center entrance or the main entrance. Dr. Kaspar-Cope will be presenting on the benefits of increasing fiber in the diet along with recipes and taste testing. Tri Valley Health System invites anyone with the diagnosis of diabetes as well as a support person to join the free support group and there’s no need to pre-register. Magorian takes second at State Spelling Bee

Arapahoe’s Thomas Magorian received 2nd place in the State Spelling Bee Competition held February 26 at the University of Nebraska Strauss Performing Arts Center in Omaha. There were 70 participants from 5th-8th grade that came from Nebraska and southwest Iowa. This was the 93rd annual regional bee, the first year it was sponsored by the Omaha Sports Commission. There were 2 written rounds until 12 students were left for the oral round. The word he missed was “acquirable.” The winner was Ananya Rao Prassanna, a 5th grader from Elkhorn. Also pictured is Enunciator Charles Johanningsmeier, chair of UNO’s English department, the 3 judges and the Executive Director of the Omaha Sports Commission.
