Newly Created Housing Rehab Program Announced

The Cambridge Economic Development Board announced the approval of a new housing rehab program available in Cambridge in an effort to improve mid-price housing options for rent or sale. The home must be located within the Cambridge 69022 city limits and must be a nonowner occupied single-family dwelling within the R1 zoning area.

The Cambridge Memorial Hospital Auxiliary recently purchased five Stryker wheelchairs for the Tri Valley Health Services Specialty Clinic, Greeter’s Desk and Emergency Room areas. Funds came from the sale of items donated by the community at the TVHS Auxiliary Thrift Store in downtown Cambridge. The wheelchairs, valued at $13,600, are among the many items purchased by the Auxiliary for TVHS/TVHS Assisted Living in 2021. Auxiliary members pictured include Elnora Burke, Vicki Jones, Jessica Fisher, Charla Mehaffie, Marilyn KIinkebiel, Cheryl Schaeffer, Marlene Witte, Peggy Rawn, Sharon Lightle, Kathy Graf, Joy Deterding, Linda Johnson, Betty Kruger, Pat Downer and Linda Sandman.

Long-time deputy appointed Gosper County Sheriff

ELWOOD – Chief Gosper County Deputy Craig Ward was sworn in as Gosper County Sheriff on Friday, February 11 by the Hon. Jeffrey Wightman, who presides in the 11 th County Court Judicial Dist. After Dennis Ocken retired at the end of January, the County Commissioners had 45 days to appoint a new sheriff to fill the vacancy. The commissioners voted to appoint Ward to the post during their regular board meeting on February 9, 2022.
