The Arapahoe Public Library participated in the National movement called Take Your Child to the Library Day, which is celebrated on the first Saturday in February. Participants received Luau party bags and checked out all the fun things the library has to offer. The library is celebrating all month long with reading challenges for all ages, Blind Date With a Book and afterschool programs. Pictured here are Stacy and Ella Wilson.

Elwood Students participate in Science Fair

Students in grades 5th thru 8th participated in the Elwood Science Fair on Friday February 4th. Students were interviewed about their project during the day by the Science Fair Judges. On Friday evening the student’s projects were on display in the school gym for the public to view and the awards ceremony was held at the close of the evening.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. The staff will continue to make your visit here, either while participating in the activities or eating our noon meal, as positive and enjoyable as can be. Thanks for your support.

Head Start To Take Applications

Head Start, a program of Community Action Partnership, is taking applications for 2022-2023 school year. Head Start is a child and family development program for 3 and 4 year olds and offers a home based option. Head Start offers a nurturing, safe learning environment for children. Some of the services for children include developmentally appropriate activities, on-going developmental assessments, health screenings, disability services, family support and nutritionally balanced weekly nutrition experiences. Furnas County GOP to meet

The Furnas County GOP will meet on February 15th at the Beaver City Community Building in Beaver City, NE. The doors will open at 6:30 for coffee and the business meeting will begin at 7:00.

The Edison Volunteer Fire Department met at the Twirly Bird Cafe in Oxford for a supper recognizing Rich Jochem for 40 years of service, and Tim Chapman and Arlan Leising for 30 years.
