The Arapahoe Public Library participated in the National movement called Take Your Child to the Library Day, which is celebrated on the first Saturday in February. Participants received Luau party bags and checked out all the fun things the library has to offer. Students in grades 5th thru 8th participated in the Elwood Science Fair on Friday February 4th. Students were interviewed about their project during the day by the Science Fair Judges. On Friday evening the student’s projects were on display in the school gym for the public to view and the awards ceremony was held at the close of the evening.

The Gosper County Senior Center is in full swing and has coffee drinkers in at 8:30, pool-players in the midmorning, exercise machines that are in motion, a puzzle on the table, domino game to get started after lunch and of course great noon dinners for you to enjoy with friendly neighbors. Head Start, a program of Community Action Partnership, is taking applications for 2022-2023 school year. Head Start is a child and family development program for 3 and 4 year olds and offers a home based option. Head Start offers a nurturing, safe learning environment for children. The Furnas County GOP will meet on February 15th at the Beaver City Community Building in Beaver City, NE. The doors will open at 6:30 for coffee and the business meeting will begin at 7:00.
