Nebraska Department of Education draft of health education standards met with controversy

Under Nebraska state law, Education Standards for reading, writing, mathematics, and social studies are required to be updated every seven years. This year, the Nebraska Department (NDE) of Education expanded that effort to review and update other subject areas—including health education standards for the first time.
