Ric and Kate Meyers attended basketball games on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday Kate hossted a birthday party for Alex Meyers,daughter of Eric and Kendra Meyers. Their family was all there along with Amy and Tedd Watson.

The monthly potluck was held on Monday with 14 residents present. There were no birthdays to celebrate. Bingo will be February 19th with Barb Osiecki as hostess. The March potluck will be held on the 7th. The program on Monday was given by Ilene Collins speaking on Presidents Day and Valentines Day. It was a beautiful day for a gettogether in February.

Emma Crawford and her daughter, Marilin Crawford of Papillion, NE joined Nathie Ahrens, Lorrie Anderson, Donna McCoy, Fern McCoy and Lelia Haussler in Prairie Pines parlor for Sunday morning worship service. Pastor Joel Rathbun is the minister of the Arapahoe Methodist Church. They ate lunch at Prairie Piines dining room at noon.

Running for Heroes

The Furnas County Sheriff's Office was selected as a recipient of a K9 harness and first aid kit as part of Running for Heroes event, a 1 mile run that is done in support of fallen K9s. Arapahoe FCCLA Members competed in the District 11 STAR competition

Congratulations Arapahoe FCCLA STAR Competitors Arapahoe FCCLA Members competed in the District 11 STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) competition this February. District 11 FCCLA includes: Arapahoe, Cambridge, Chase County, Dundy County, Elwood, Medicine Valley, and Southern Valley. Six Arapahoe members: Tracy Roskop, Arapahoe Senior, FCCLA President; Gentry Warner, Arapahoe Junior, FCCLA Vice President; Emerson Swanson, Arapahoe Junior, District Officer; Anna tenBensel, Arapahoe Junior, Secretary; Rhiannon Sich, Arapahoe Senior, FCCLA Treasurer; and Berkley Warner, Arapahoe Sophomore; took on projects for the competition. Tracy Roskop competed in Level 3, Teach and Train, placing Top Gold with a 95.75/100. The goal of her project was to teach and train Southern Valley 1st graders about addition and subtraction. Gentry Warner competed in Level 3, Hospitality and Tourism, placing Top Silver with an 81/100. The goal of her project was to create a hypothetical business, including a website, for the community of Arapahoe. Her business was a Feed Store called, Open Range Feed. Emerson Swanson competed in Level 3, Career Investigation, placing Top Gold with a 95/100. The goal of her project was to research the career of Neuropsychology and analyze her specific qualities that would make her a great Neuropsychologist. Anna tenBensel competed in Level 3, Event Management, placing Top Gold with a 93/100. The goal of her project was to create an event for the Arapahoe community. Her event was called Sensory Friendly Movie. Rhiannon Sich competed in Level 3, Focus on Children, placing Top gold with a 93.5/100. The goal of her project was to teach toddler aged children about the importance of vehicle and road safety. Berkley Warner competed in Level 2, Interpersonal Communication, placing Top Gold with a 92/100. The goal of her project was to create a better avenue of communication between the Arapahoe community and the school. Each of these ladies created brilliant projects with creativity and purpose. They each scored extremely well overall when comparing their point totals across the district. Congratulations to our Arapahoe members on their hard work and job well done. We look forward to your representation in the State Leadership Conference in Lincoln in April.

Olivia Leising named to honors list at Concordia

SEWARD, NE (02/03/2022)- Olivia Leising, from Arapahoe, Neb., was one of 251 students named to Concordia University, Nebraska's honors list for the Fall 2021 semester. Students who earn a 3.90 GPA or higher while completing at least 12 undergraduate credit hours qualify for the honors list..
