Oxford - Guests were entertained and generously opened their wallets during the second annual ‘Dancing Through the Generations’ Gala at the Hilltop Event Center to support the Golden Generation on Saturday, March 19. Center Director Heather Linden reports that the event profited $10,518.38.

The Orleans Fire Department is down to three fire trucks after losing a tanker when fighting a fire near Stamford this last Wednesday, March 16. The fire saw seven area fire departments responding and two homes and many acres of grassland saved.

The Village of Oxford Board of Trustees discussed wages at the swimming pool during their meeting on Monday, March 21. Pool manager Lacy Rice had told the hiring committee she was having a hard time getting enough lifeguards hired.

Shelby Rickert and Brianna Jorgenson were selected and took part in Class C All State Band at Kearney High School on Saturday, March 19. It was an all day event with the clinic beginning at 8:30 am and ending with a concert at 5:30 that evening.
