Bonnie Mae Bain sadly passed away on January 10, 2025 at the age of 77. She was born in a house in Mullen, Nebraska on September 12,1947 to Vilas and Neva (Little) Jones. She was the oldest of four children.

Bonnie attended school in Mullen, Nebraska and graduated in 1965. On a blind date in the fall of 1967, she met Robert Bain and they were married on April 6, 1968. To this union they were blessed with three children: Michelle, Sharmin and Cody.

They made their home in Curtis, Nebraska from 1970 until her passing.

Bonnie was part of the Frontier County Wranglerette Club, help with the Dog Races at the Frontier County Fair and was a Girl Scouts Leader.

Bonnie was the Director of the Curtis Housing Authority from November 1976 to September 2013.

She was a very caring and kind soul to everyone she met. She held countless Avon, MaryKay and Aztec painting parties. She was known for the “BEST” no bake cookies around.

She never missed a school event as she was so very proud of her children. Bonnie was a very loving Grandma to her grandchildren and great- grandchildren and would talk to anyone that would listen about them. Bonnie had the gift to gab and was a stranger to no one.

She left behind her husband Bob, daughter Michelle Brestel (Doug) of Callaway, NE; daughter Sharmin Gonzales (Joe) of Kearney, NE; son Cody Bain of Dunlap, IA; grandchildren Jake (Megan) Gonzales; Jaide (Jessie) Adams; Denton Votaw; Cole (Terri) Gonzales; Haylee (Zak) Johnson; Mia Bain; Alex Brestel; Dylan Oviatt; Brady Brestel; Tyra Brestel; Levi Bain; 6 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons.

Her brothers Ronald (Jean) Jones, Donald Jones, brother in law Dan Gibson, sister in law Connie Bussinger and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jeannie, her father and mother in law Bounce and Irene Bain, brother in law Steve Bussinger, nephew Erich Bussinger and great granddaughter Ashlynn Gonzales.

A Memorial service in conjunction with Bob’s will be held Monday, April 7, 2025, 10:30 AM at Curtis Methodist Church in Curtis, NE.

Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell.
