DELORES A. MOORE
Delores A. Moore, age 88, of Bartley, NE passed on to her heavenly home at Tri Valley Health System Monday, August 14, 2023. She was surrounded by her family.
She was born in Farwell, Nebraska on January 21, 1935 to Henry and Helen (Pavlik) Horky. The family moved to St. Paul, NE when Delores was in the 5th grade. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1952. Delores was employed at Dillard’s Drug Store while she was in school.
Delores was blessed with four children, Jeanne, Don, Carol and Carla. The family was extremely blessed in January 1964, when Eldon Moore and his three children, Kathy, Bill and Mike entered their lives.
On July 26, 1964, the couple said, “I Do”. Eldon and Delores moved the family to a farm north of Bartley where they made their home until they retired. Eldon and Delores then moved to Bartley on August 18, 1995.
Delores was a member and Treasurer of the Bartley Christian Church. She always raised a large garden and canned most of the harvested crops.
She belonged to the Merry Homemaker Extension Club and played cards with the Shuffle Maids. Delores and Eldon bought a camper and traveled with the Good Sam’s Club. They spent several winters in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon; parents, Henry and mother, Helen Horky-Schenck and husband, Dan Schenck; daughter, Kathy; grandson, Brady Koch; brothers-in-law, Clarence Paugh, Jr., Roy Hart, Jr., and wife, Norma Hart.
Delores is survived by her three daughters, Jeanne Moore of Bartley, Carol (Bob) Chalupa of Bartley and Carla (Brian) Malleck of Indianola; three sons, Don (Vonnie) Moore of McCook, Bill (Trisha) Moore of Bartley and Mike (Brenda) Moore of Lexington; 17 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; brother, Duane (Zara) Horky of Bonnie Lake, WA; sister, Gloria Paugh of Rushville, ID.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel, McCook, with family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services were held Friday, August 18, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the McCook Christian Church with Reverend Tim Burke officiating.
Burial was scheduled for 1:30 PM in the Bartley Cemetery. Memorials may be left in Delores’ name to either the American Legion Hall of Bartley or the Methodist Church of Bartley.
