Hi-Line falls at Dundy County-Stratton
BENKELMAN - Battling perhaps the top team in the State, the Hi-Line football team proved to be overmatched on Friday as they fell to the hosting Dundy County-Stratton Tigers, 52-0.
DCS scored on their second play to go up 8-0 and the Bulls struggled to get much going offensively the entire night.
DCS held a 16-0 lead after a quarter and built a 38-0 lead at the half.
The Tigers tallied single touchdowns in both the third and fourth quarters to ac count for the final score.
The Tigers held a 378-167 advantage in total offense and Hi-Line was held to a season-low 3.5 yards per carry on the ground.
Ayden Moore led the offense with 38 yards rushing on six carries and Conner Schutz added 27 yards on 14 attempts. Trevor Jorges rushed for 19 yards and Kody Keller added 18.
Success was just as difficult to find through theair as Schutz was 6-for-16 passing for 46 yards. Both Colton Stubbs and Cooper Ray each had two receptions and Jorges and Cade Schmidt each added another.
Defensively, Ray and Kyle Hort each had seven tackles for the Bulls while Schutz added six and Keller had five. Hort had two tackles for loss to lead the team.
Hi-Line’s next contest was to be at home with Cambridge on Friday, but that game was cancelled due to COVID-19 issues.
The Bulls are scheduled to finish the regular season October 16 at Hitchcock County.
