Warriors, Eagles compete at Southern Valley

Arapahoe and Southern Valley competed at the Southern Valley Wrestling Invite on Friday, Dec. 11. Arapahoe finished 11th as a team with 59 points and Southern Valley finished 12th with 26 points. Sutherland won the invite with 167 points.

Jordan Smith, 170, led Arapahoe with his secondplace finish. He tallied four pins with times of 3o seconds, 3 minutes and 39 seconds, 16 seconds and 44 seconds. He fell in the championship match in 3:44.

Tristan White, 145, finished third in his weight class. He won with pins of 5:33, 49 seconds, 47 seconds and with a 9-3 decisions over Southern Valley’s Cole Broeker in the third-place match.

Ashton Downey contributed the last points for Arapahoe with a 1:56 pin.

Southern Valley was led by Braxton Hammond, 106, who finished second with one pin in 1:22 and one fall in 46 seconds.

Broeker and Alex Roethke both competed at 145-pounds. Broeker finished fourth and marked two pins in the tournament — one in 3:12 and one in 4:23. Roethke was able to tally one pin in 3:18.
